It is with great sadness that we have to impart the news that our great friend and past president Marilyn Harrop has passed away after bravely battling cancer for some years.
She was sharp, funny, spiky and always great company. Her commitment to education and the NUT then NEU was total and she always attended annual conference no matter how much pain she might have been suffering. She carried herself wonderfully well and always had a smile for everyone (or sharp word if required!).
No one present will ever forget her rip-roaring performance of The Troggs “Wild Thing” at her presidential conference in Torquay!! It summed her up.
Feisty, tongue in cheek and full of good humour.
